Goals
Create a new design direction for Birdhouse that appeals to a wide audience — from young groms to old school rippers.
Outcome
Working with skateboard legend, Per Welinder and the in-house marketing team, we created a new line of skateboards, wheels, and soft goods that generated millions of dollars in global sales. We also had an increase in brand awareness by leveraging social media and doing aggressive ad buys in all the major skate publications, including Thrasher, Slap, Transworld Skateboarding, and The Skateboard Mag

Souped up decks.
I brought in the incredibly talented design agency, Soup Group (now Lincoln Design Co.), to create numerous skateboard deck graphics. Collaborating with their creative director, Dan Janssen, we nailed down the design direction of each board and his team of artists worked on the final execution. I went old school on the Tony Hawk Huck Jam skateboards by creating them with paper, scissors and a Xerox machine. ✂️
